Could the astrological nitwits be right to stop your marketing from going ahead?

"sorry, the promotion for that can't go ahead, my astrologer has given it the red light".

The astrologer cost Gary a LOT of money, like six FIGURE amounts. He'd got the client up to 800k a month and the next lot of work was all tied to his series of promotions.

Which now of course wasn't going to go ahead because his client made all her moves based on what the astrologist said, which in effect meant the planets aren't aligned and so... it's a no go.

What's interesting to note about that is we generally base our decisions and opinions on someone else's ideas, or thoughts, or strategies. Yes, we make the final yes or no, though, it's entwined with an element of another's opinion. 

Now who's to say what Gary experienced is out-of-the-blue, whacky?

Because look at it like this - what if all the astrologer's previous predictions and musings have all but come true and had saved her client many a disaster, what if that happened to her? Would she be at fault if she now went against the wisdom of her astrologer?  

Of course, to outsiders like you and me, it all looks like the astrologer has manipulatised [that's a new word I just made up, comes from another made up combination I've created of manipulation and hypnosis - manipulosis]... her client into mental submission with the horrible fear carrot being dangled, in one way or another.   

What equivalent of an astrological crackpot are you letting into your marketing mind, without ever questioning what and why you're doing?  

And here's the real scary part; if there's no astrological crackpot running amok inside your brain, and your still halting progress on your marketing, your communications, your promotions, then it looks like you've got to put YOU under the crackpot microscope because you're the one holding EVERYTHING up from smooth progress happening.

Absurd?

Diabolical?

Yes, and... 100% TRUE!

Now if you've not actually carried out a DIY audit on your own mind and how you think the way you do and how you make things happen (or how you not make things happen)... in the specific way you do, then be prepared! Because unlike an external audit where there's criteria and measurement and feedback, without any of that kind of measurement and structure in place, there'll be a tendency for you to smooth over all the cracks. And that's easy for all of us to do. Just get the trowel and the polyfilla and we're as good as new.

Until... 

...the CRACKS start appearing once again!

If you don't want ANYTHING to stop your marketing and promotional machine from acquiring new clients, and... you don't want anything getting in the way to have your existing clients and customers from stalling and spluttering and grinding to a non profitable halt, then don't let any astrologer, marketing no-nothing consultants, lecturers or teachers in academia... to get to you.
